National Conference on Indigenous Systems of Medicine 2015

National Conference on Indigenous Systems of Medicine 2015 is currently underway at the Bandaranaike Memorial Ayurvedic Research Institute (BMARI), Maharagama. The event, which commenced at the BMICH yesterday, brings together experts, eminent personnel and professionals in various fields of indigenous medicine from all parts of Sri Lanka on to a single platform to discuss and research problems and solutions in the fields of Ayurveda, Sidda, Unani, Paramparika Vedakama and Homeopathy. The programme includes plenary lectures by invited speakers and oral/poster presentations. Original research findings and comprehensive reviews on a number of areas including Chronic Kidney Disease, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and dengue are expected to be submitted at this forum which will increase awareness on the many ways that indigenous systems of medicine have contributed to Sri Lanka’s national healthcare system.
